This Port Charlotte is a heavily peated (44ppm) single malt whisky from the progressive Islay distillers at Bruichladdich. This bottling is a blend of multiple vintages of this smoky whisky and offers an insight into how Bruichladdich may have tasted in years gone by.
Nose: This is a battle between peat and spice. The smoke swirls around a battalion of pepper and cinnamon. Palate: The smoke arrives first followed by an immense creaminess on the palate, then notes of sherbet lemon emerge. Finish: The finish is fruity with just a hint of soot and nutmeg.
